Atlantic City beckons this weekend for savvy Comped visitors. A thrilling hoop spectacle, discounted show tickets, and a tribute to legends mark our best bets.
Here’s a way to go in style, using today’s spent dollars to create tomorrow’s comps.
Resorts Star Card members have a chance at $50,000
Test your aim with the $50,000 Half-Court Shot at Resorts, taking place right on the Boardwalk. Participation is open to all Star Card members, and entry forms can be snagged by swiping at the promotional kiosks in the casino’s Promotions area.
Here’s how you can win:
- Score $500 in Free Play: Starting at noon, make the shot and pocket $500 in free play, plus an extra entry for the grand prize.
- Take the $50,000 Shot: At 4:30 p.m., one lucky participant will be drawn for a chance at the $50,000 prize. If the winner doesn’t show within 10 minutes, another name is drawn. This continues until someone makes the winning shot.
Get inspired by the Harlem Wizards, who will be showcasing their jaw-dropping basketball tricks and dynamic dunks at 3 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 4 p.m. Their skill might just be the motivation you need.
After the action, head inside Resorts from 5-6:30 p.m. for an exclusive meet and greet with NBA legend Walt “Clyde” Frazier. Known for leading the New York Knicks to championship victories in 1970 and 1973, Frazier was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987.
Special March Madness room rate at Ocean Casino
During March Madness, several sportsbooks have priced customers out of the market. Top seats have been reserved for months, driving the price in some casinos now to an astronomical $275. And that’s just to watch the game in a sports-friendly environment.
Some New Jersey players told Comped they cancelled hotel reservations because the price jump at the books was up about $1,000% compared to most other days.
A good route for many of our visiting customers is to find the best deal on a hotel, and then enjoy the game on your phone, tablet, or a nearby bar. That includes places just off the casino.
Ocean Casino Resort, for instance, advertises a Book the Madness Zone Hotel Package. Visitors can enjoy an overnight stay in a Contemporary King room and a $50 food and beverage credit to The Gallery or Balcony Bar.
That creates more value to the hotel stay, giving customers the option to then find a cheap nearby place to watch the games. Or just watch it in one of the casino bars rather than the book.
